There are many professional SEO services available in the market but I have never hired them because most of them are very expensive and results are very slow. If you are a blogger like me I would suggest you to learn SEO rather than hiring professional or wasting money on it.

Few other modifications you can also do in your blog or website which will help your blog or website to rank higher. So let us discuss each one of it one by one. Rather than technical aspect I will tell you the secrets which search engines like Google loves. So here we go.
Before starting to tell you about basic SEO techniques, two things I would like to tell all my fellow bloggers which are even more important than the SEO. These two points form a base and with basic SEO techniques you can move on further.
1. Content is the King
Quality content is the most important thing when we talk about SEO. SEO can facilitate to achieve better result but only SEO cannot help. The first and foremost thing for any blog or website is quality content.
Therefore try to write articles full of information. Always write original articles and do not copy anybody. If you are writing quality articles the ranking of your article as well as of your blog is bound to improve. Such is the mechanism of Google or of any other major search engine that quality work is always recognized.
So your focus should be to provide quality content. While providing quality content your second objective should be to follow all basic SEO techniques will help your article to achieve greater heights.
2. Regularity
In blogging regularity is very important. You cannot expect good results in blogging if you are not regular. You need to continue work on your blog and always keep it updated. Write articles on a regular interval. There is no periodicity defined anywhere but if you are writing long articles of say more than 1000 words than you should write at least one article a week.
If you are in habit of writing short articles of about 300-400 words than you should post such articles every 2-3 days. This is not defined anywhere but this I am sharing you based on my experience.
Therefore post regular articles with quality and original content. Keep your plug-ins and version updated. Also update your old posts from time to time.

Page Titles
Write the title of your article carefully. The page title will be the first thing which will appear in the search engine. Major search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo use the title tag while giving search results on their search engines.
Give each article or post a unique title. It should start with or contains the focus keyword which you are targeting. A page title should not be longer than 60 words because search engine will show Page title only up to 60 words, beyond that it will not appear on search engine.
Meta Descriptions
Meta description is also very important because in search results under the page title it will appear on search engines. It should be a brief description of your article. It should be a summary of your article so that the person who is making search on the search engine finds it interesting so that he or she tempts to click it and land on your web page.
Meta description should be of about 160 words and should be a precise summary of your article. Try to put your focus keyword in the very beginning.
Headings and Subheadings
While writing your article you should structure it with headings. In WordPress the page title is automatically heading 1. Further you can divide your article in heading 2 and for subheadings you can use heading 3.
This will give a proper structure to your article and is an important basic SEO method.
Internal and External Links
Give internal links wherever you feel they should appear. Do not give too many of it and put it as need based only. Also give 1 or 2 external links as well. Both internal as well as external links are important for on page SEO.
ALT tags
ALT tags are important element that tells the search engines about the content of your image. You may use your keyword while using ALT tags. However ALT tag should be relevant to the image.
Once your images are properly indexed you can get many organic visitors through the search engines. As your images will get indexed properly it will also improve ranking of your blog or website.
Sitemaps
Sitemaps are also very important for your blog or website. It will help your articles to reach to search engines quickly and in a proper manner. XML sitemaps are a critical part of your blog or website. In WordPress you can use the sitemap plug-in or can create it through Yoast SEO plug-in.
You can submit it through Google webmaster tool and can monitor the progress.
Length of your Article
For better SEO the length of your article should be at least of 300 words. Experienced bloggers normally write very lengthy articles. Articles providing in-depth information are always welcomed by search engines. Therefore you can choose the length as per the availability of time with you. However it should not be less than 300 words.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is also very important. You should use the keyword in your article in a natural way. It should be about 1 to 3% and not more than that.
