In the gadget section of my blog today I am going to present detailed review of Lenovo Vibe K5.  The prices in the Smartphone segment are shrinking like anything. With the launch of this phone there will be another change in the Smartphone market.  This is probably the lowest offer price for high end smart phones. In the last six months the average price range of Smartphone remain somewhere between Rs. 10000 to Rs. 20000. However Lenovo Vibe K5 is the first attempt to shrink the lower side of this price range to a new level. However it has to be analyzed whether despite the low price this fulfills the expectations of the users. Let us now discuss one by one on important features of this phone.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Review

Looks and Design

Lenovo Vibe K5 is available in three colors which are Gold, Silver and Grey. Finishing of all the three colors is very good. The cover is of plastic with metallic finishing. On the back side there is aluminum with plastic coating from inside. The back cover is slightly hard to open but it is not a big issue. Once you open it 1-2 times you will get use to it.

The weight of this phone is 142 gram which is a medium category weight as far as Smart phones are concerned.  The thickness is only 8mm which is slightly thinner than the other Smart phones.

There is also a LED indicator. It lights up whenever you get any kind of notification and the phone is in standby mode. While you may have noticed that in other Smart phones such LED indicator keeps on blinking but here it gets on once you get any notification and remained on till you check the message.

Few other notable things I would also like to tell you. The dimensions of Lenovo Vibe K5 are 71.14 x 142.04 x 8.24 mm. There is dual mic which is placed at bottom and near camera. USB port is at the top.

Display and Screen

Lenovo Vibe K5 Screen is of 5 inches and the resolution is 280 x 720 p. It’s an IPS screen which delivers a crystal clear picture. Touch sensors are also very good and effective. The color reproduction is also good. You will enjoy watching movies, videos and playing games on this phone as display is very bright. Overall the quality of the display is extremely good and enjoyable.

Software   

Now let me tell you about the software part of this phone. Almost all the budget Smart phones are running on old Lollipop 5.1 version of Android. Lenovo Vibe K5 is also having the old Lollipop 5.1 version of Android but it is having two user interfaces. Those who are not having technical knowledge may find it difficult to understand. In simple words the Vibe user interfaces allows customization and provides attractive look to the phone. The other user interface is plain and is with a white background.

Battery

The battery of Lenovo Vibe K5 is 2750 mAh battery and is of good quality. The battery of this mobile phone is a removable battery and it can last up to one and half day for those who use their mobile at a medium usage level. For those who use the phone frequently it can last up to 24 hours or less than it. For users who use it continuously without break it can last up to 3 to 4 hours. Overall in comparison to the batteries of other similar range Smart phones and in terms of battery life, the battery of Lenovo Vibe K5 is quite good. As far as charging is concerned, it will take about two hours to fully charge the battery.

Camera

Let now discuss about Camera of this phone. Anybody buying any Smartphone always looks for a good camera as it is one of the most used applications of any Smartphone. Lenovo Vibe K5 offers a 13 megapixel camera. The quality of the camera is decent. It cannot be rated as very good or excellent but keeping in mind the price of this phone it can be said that the camera is good. There are two cameras a 13 megapixel camera is on the back side of the phone whereas a 5 megapixel camera is on the front side of the phone.

Overall performance of the phone

Overall the phone is capable of handling all the tasks very well. The ability of handling most tasks and games well put this phone at par with the competitor’s phone. The phone offers almost all the features of very expensive Smart phones. This phone supports 4G network on both of the SIMs. The memory is also very good as it has 16 GB internal memory. The memory is expandable to another 32 GB.

Final verdict, rating and conclusion

Now the question is whether we should go for this phone or not. Lenovo Vibe K5 is an excellent phone at just Rs. 6,999 and provides full value for money. This is probably the best Smartphone in this price segment. So if you are looking for a cool Smartphone at a cheaper price you should surely go for it.
