There is important news for our visitors who are preparing for bank exams. Now there may be system of no interview for bank jobs and other government jobs of junior level.
As you already know that the recruitment process of IBPS Clerk is already going on and the mains exams will be conducted shortly. Now the question is whether there will be any interview for the candidates who will qualify the IBPS Mains Examination.
All the leading news papers have recently published the news that from 01.01.2016, there will be not be any requirement of interview for Group D, C and B non gazetted posts in central government. Some news papers have also published the information that the same rule will be also applicable on bank clerk jobs and no interview for bank jobs will be required after 01.01.2016.
We would like to tell you that all this development has taken place on the initiative of our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as the PM in his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, had suggested that the practice of holding interviews for recruitment at lower levels in governments could be abolished and later on the PM announced about abolishing interviews for low ranked jobs in government sector and he told that it would be effective from 01.01.2016.
However it was not clear whether this will be applicable for Bank jobs or not. However now there is a copy of a letter dated 22.12.2015 in which the Ministry of Finance has addressed to all the Chief Executives of PSBs. The letter says:
Cabinet secretary in its meeting held on 13.11.2015 has recommended discontinuation of interviews in the recruitment process in public sector banks for clerical and sub-staff (junior level) posts by the deadline of 31.12.2015”
As the interviews are being scrapped, they have advised the banks to look for other alternatives in addition to the written exam scores.
No Interview for Bank Jobs?
IBPS has not given any notification in this regard till now however there is every possibility that IBPS may come up with a notification regarding no interview for bank jobs for clerical cadre and sub staff level jobs.
Further, RRB or Regional Rural Banks has circulated a letter regarding discontinuation of interview in RRB. Here is a copy of letter.
It is now almost certain that there will not be any interview for IBPS Clerk posts in particular and no interview for bank jobs of junior level will be conducted in furture. Leading news website of India Today Group has also confirmed this news.
However it is likely that there may be provision of Psychometric Test in place of the interviews in bank. However it is still un confirmed whether psychometric test will replace the interview.
